This is the bar inside the Jalisco delegation in Mexico City: so much tequila.

Bars on the outside, bar’s on the inside.
Looks like they built a wall to keep all the
asylum seekers
drunks
away.

Ah, but they keep all of the Federal Government representatives drunk inside.
“I...I LOVE YOU AMBASSADOR, OF COURSE WE’RE GOING TO INCREASE YOUR DISCRETIONARY
BUDGET”

A full bar is nice, but an open bar is better.

Those Jac aranda blooms on the ground make me homesick.

Quick: what’s your favorite everyday tequila for drinking? What do you use for mixing? What do you love but usually can’t afford to buy?

I’m very picky with my booze as I don’t drink often, so you’re warned.
Regular drinking:
Milagro- Both Añejo and cristalino
1800- Añejo
Maestro Dobel- Cristalino
Mixing:
Milagro- Both Añejo and cristalino
Don Julio 70- Cristalino (don’t judge me)
Jose Cuervo Tradicional
- Any
Love but very expensive:
Casa Dragones-Cristalino
Reserva de la familia- Añejo

Yes! Beyond the Ficus trees, all you need now are some Washingtonia filifera s and it’d totally be my home.

I find this interesting because my coworkers in SoCal would do a lot of stealing of bottles of Patró n during our white elephant gift exchanges. It seemed to be, by far, the most popular brand with that group...

I’m not very fond of Patron, but my understandinng is that it’s the most widely distributed one

Outside your “Love but very expensive” list, everything you mentioned is readily available in the US...
My suspicion was that it was a better/ higher-end one that was widely available in the US.

Casa Dragones is great, if you can find it at an Airport’s Duty Free, you should get it and grey-import it into the US. So is Reserva de la familia but that’s more common.
Perhaps Patron is really good
... I wouldn’t know to be honest. I’m not exactly a tequila connoisseur. I just know that when I’ve been given Patron I didn’t like it that much. Same goes for Herradura... just my personal judgement.

While it looks nice, I have an aversion to places that keep good liquor in a place where the sun will ruin it over time. Many bottles will likely not be there long enough for it to matter, but I’ve seen my share of half-full 18 yr Mac allan bottles with condensation and faded labels.

I swear that I think exactly that every time I pass by... the sun doesn’t hit that part of the building a lot but still... not cool

Cool. I have a friend in Mexico who started her own business under her own label. She sent me a bottle of her first batch. Best stuff I’ve ever had. I lost touch with her years ago and don’t know what became of the business.

what’s the name of the label?

It didn’t have a label.
